Asus ZenBook series with Intel Skylake CPU launched in India, prices start at Rs. 55,000

Asus has launched its ZenBook flagship lineup in India which includes three models - UX305CA, UX303UB and UX305UA. All the three models run Windows 10, come with 13.3-inch displays and is powered 6th generation Intel Skylake processor, They come in Smoky Brown and Icicle Gold color options, and have metal finish and slim chassis.

The ASUS ZenBook UX305CA, UX303UB and UX305UA notebooks have been priced at Rs 55,500, Rs 71,500 and Rs 74,200 respectively, and will be available for purchase starting March 4 from Asus Exclusive Stores and online retailers.

Raspberry Pi 3 gets 64-bit chip and built-in WiFi, Bluetooth, still just $35

Raspberry Pi Foundation, as a part of its four year anniversary has launched the third generation of Raspberry Pi, the Raspberry Pi 3.

The Raspberry Pi 3 has the same size as the previous models but packs a 64-bit 1.2GHz quad-core Broadcom BCM2837 SoC with ARM Cortex-A53 CPU and now comes with on-board WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.1 support. The Cortex A53 CPU offers an increase of 33 percent in the clock speed, and is twice as powerful as the 900MHz Cortex A7 CPU used in the Pi 2.

It comes with the same 1GB RAM and 400mHz VideoCore IV graphics, and includes HDMI port, Ethernet Jack, 4 x USB ports, a microSD card reader, 3.5mm jack and a 4-pin connector.

For now Raspberry is sticking to the 32-bit Raspbian OS, but will consider offering a 64-bit flavor of the OS in the coming months. The Raspberry Pi 3 will be also compatible with older models, so all the tutorials and projects will work the same on the new hardware.

The Raspberry Pi 3 is priced at $35 (Rs. 2,500) and is now available from element14 and RS Components. The company said that it will continue selling the Raspberry Pi 1 Model B+ and Raspberry Pi 2 Model B and will introduce a BCM2837-based Compute Module 3 in the next few months.

Lava unveils Twinpad, a 2-in-1 hybrid with Windows 10

Lava has launched a new Windows 10 laptop/tablet hybrid called the Twipad. The 2-in-1 tablet comes with a detachable keyboard, which allows it to be used as a laptop. It also comes with five-point capacitive touch display with stylus support, and the screen is bidirectional, which means the screen can be placed facing front or back.

The Lava Twinpad sports a 10.1-inch 800 x 1280 IPS display and is equipped with 1.33GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3735F processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB inbuilt expandable storage (up to 64GB via microSD card), and 2-megapixel primary & secondary camera.

The Twinpad has a built-in 3GB SIM slot, 2 x USB slots, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity. It is fueled by a 7400mAh battery.

Priced at Rs. 15,999, Lava's Twinpad will be avaialble across all major retail stores and e-commerce portals.
