Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus was founded in December 2013 and over the year the company unlike other Chinese counterparts did not rush to launch new devices every now and then. When OnePlus entered the smartphone with the OnePlus One in April 2014, it got great attention. The company termed it as a flagship killer, the reason being the OnePlus One's top of the line specs, that was offered at a fraction of the price of other flagships in the market. In July 2015 the company launched its second flagship the OnePlus 2, followed by a mid-range offering the OnePlus X in October 2015.
Now, OnePlus is gearing up for the launch its third flagship OnePlus 3. In an interveiw with CNET OnePlus co-founder, Carl Pei confirmed that the company will launch its next flagship by the end of Q2 2015, that is in June. Pei said that the OnePlus 3 will 'captive' users as much as the brand's first smartphone and will sport a 'new design', so it should look different from the the other two flagship offerings.
Pei also said that the OnePlus 3 will be released in the U.S and other key markets as an unlocked phone, and will be sold directly by OnePlus. He also mentioned the OnePlus may also come up with a "better buying process" giving us a hint that the company could ditch the invite system. That's all he had to share about the upcoming flagship.
According to rumor mill the OnePlus 3 will sport a 1080p screen of unknown size, and will utilize Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 SoC.
